The 5th International Advanced School on Wind Engineering

March 23-25, 2009, Opole , Poland

Host
GCOE Program New Frontier of Education and Research in Wind Engineering, Tokyo Polytechnic University , Japan
Opole University of Technology , Poland

Scope

The effect of wind is a very important issue in the building engineering field. 85% of economic losses due to natural hazards around the world are caused by wind damage. However, few universities have curriculums in this area. The proposed school intends to cover this lack of relevant advanced professional training. The lectures in the advanced school will deal with wind disaster, wind load and structural aerodynamics. The lectures will provide the outline and latest knowledge as well. The advanced school will be of interest to students, engineers, and researchers who work in relevant scientific research or design topics.

Lecturers
Following leading researchers in the wind engineering field will provide intensive lectures on the latest knowledge.
